Philomena's Sunny Day Giveaway

This is Philomena the Foam Head:

Philomena is wearing a lovely sunhat sent to us by Dorfman Pacific.  The hat has a four-inch brim that provides UPF50 sun protection, which is doubly important to someone as fair as Philomena.  Philomena also appreciates that the hat is very lightweight and can easily packed into a bag or suitcase for vacation. (We really can attest to this; it was mailed to us folded up in a large envelope and unfolded just as lovely as you please).

It also comes adorned with a little bow:

And that little bow isn't just for decoration.  It is actually a functional sizing tie, in case your head isn't the same size as Philomena's.

That's right, this hat can be yours.  Philomena and I are giving away this very Dorfman Pacific Scala Collezione hat to one lucky reader.  All you need to do is leave me a comment, by midnight on Sunday, June 17th, letting me know where you'd take this easily-packable hat this summer.  Oh, and leave me a way to contact you if you win.  And, just in case you don't win, you can get a Scala Collezione hat of your own, here, at 20% off, using the code: SunHatSave20.  The code is good through June 30th, 2012.

Good luck, Reader Friends!

Gracey (and Philomena)

  1. Hi, Philomena! I wish I could introduce you to my own foam head, Clarisse. (I also have two other ladies that used to belong to my friend Jessica, but I forget their names.) I might take this hat on a short jaunt to the farmer's market, or I might take it as far as to Santa Cruz for the weekend! It's especially important that I wear hats when I'm out in the sun now that I have a buzz cut and my scalp is more exposed than ever. 2012 is going to be the Summer of Sunhats for Mia!

  2. Dearest Philomena,

I want to take the kayak out of the garage very soon and put in somewhere along the river. I can tell that this hat also has a yen for paddling the river . . . and the kayak won't clash with the neutral tone of the hat. (Very important, that.)

  3. hello! i'm thinking i'd take this hat down to the park that i live near (i'm transportation-less this summer and looking for a new car, and very financially tight) with my kindle, loaded with classics like madame bovary and the adventures of sherlock holmes and sit near the little lake littered with ducks and read, my eyes perfectly protected from the sun.

  5. I love the hat! I'm on maternity leave for the summer and I'm actually in need of a large brim hat for my walks with my baby - no better way to protect our face from the harsh sun. That hat would go everywhere I go if I win!

  6. Hello Gracey and Philomena! I would take this awesome hat to sit with me by my pool! I have no choice but to wear a wide brimmed hat to block the sun and this one is super cute and fun!

  7. I would take this hat with me when we go out in our boat. We live in super sunny Florida and my skin tone is very similar to Philomena's.

  8. I would take this to the Long Island beaches, since I'm living in NYC for the summer, and my summer hat is straw and not easy to pack, so I am currently hatless. And to my brother's wedding in Ithaca, NY.

  10. Philomena would be invited to come to Fort Wakton with me the husband and some friends. We'd hang out. Drinking margaritas and piña coladas at the beach and then cook ridiculous amounts of food

  11. I would wear it to the beach at Ocean Shores, Washington. Ahhh, can't wait!

  12. Philomena would be invited to San Marcos, Texas to float the river with a lot of friends and a lot of beer. I'd be sure to slather some sunscreen on her though, because she is just about the only woman paler than myself on the river these days.

  14. Just what I need to keep me from getting a sunburn while at the beach here in sunny California, which is good because I can burn in the fog. Love the neutral color and the bow - adorable!
